StormHacks 2025: Quadruped Robot

At StormHacks 2025, my team and I designed and built a four-legged robot dog within a single day. Our goal was to take on a hardware-focused challenge that tested our design, mechanical, and electrical integration skills under time pressure.

I led the main body assembly and CAD modeling in SolidWorks, creating a modular PLA baseplate with cutouts for the Arduino, ESP32, PWM servo driver, and battery. Each leg used MG996R servo motors attached to modular mounts, allowing rapid reprinting and reconfiguration. We completed the mechanical assembly, wiring, and testing during the hackathon, achieving a standing robot before submission.

This project strengthened my rapid prototyping, CAD design, and teamwork skills while reinforcing principles of electronics integration and modular mechanical design.
